Become a volunteer
Our cultural events are powered by volunteers who generously give their time to help share French language and culture across Central Queensland. Whether supporting a major event or lending a hand behind the scenes, volunteers play an essential role in creating the welcoming, community‑focused atmosphere we are known for. Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with others, contribute your skills, and enjoy French culture in a relaxed and friendly environment.
What volunteering involves
Volunteering with us is flexible and event‑based. Roles vary depending on the activity and may include:
- Helping with event setup and pack‑down
- Welcoming guests and assisting with registrations
- Supporting ticketing or door duties
- Assisting with refreshments or bar service (where applicable)
- Helping staff festival stalls, such as our crêpe stand at community events
- Providing general support during cultural activities
There is no requirement to speak French — just a willingness to help and be part of the team.
Who can volunteer?
We welcome:
- Members of Alliance Française Central Queensland who would like to be more involved
- Francophiles and supporters of French culture
- Community members who enjoy helping at events
You can volunteer occasionally or more regularly — every contribution is valued.
Why volunteer with us?
Volunteering is a rewarding way to:
- Meet people with a shared interest in French culture
- Be involved in enjoyable cultural and community events
- Connect more closely with our community
- Support a not‑for‑profit organisation in your local area
And of course — there’s always a little joie de vivre involved.
