JULIETTE IN SPRING
(Original title: Juliette au printemps)

Directed by Blandine Lenoir (Aurore, Annie’s Fire), Juliette in Spring follows 35‑year‑old Juliette, a children’s book illustrator who returns to her country village hoping to enjoy some quiet time with her family. Instead, she finds herself caught in a web of emotional undercurrents: a stressed and overburdened sister, a gentle but emotionally distant father, a newly liberated mother revelling in the second act of her life, and a grandmother growing increasingly frail.
As old memories, unspoken truths and long‑buried family secrets rise to the surface, Juliette is forced to reflect on her own place within the family and the life she hopes to claim for herself. Based on the graphic novel by Camille Jourdy, Lenoir’s tender and observant film blends humour, warmth and gentle surrealism to create an affectionate, deeply human portrait of family life. With a wonderful ensemble cast led by Izïa Higelin, Juliette in Spring is a quietly moving film to be savoured.
