Imagine spending a weekend by the ocean, enjoying good food, great company and as much (or as little!) French as you'd like.

Le Bon Weekend brings together French speakers and learners of all levels for a relaxed getaway filled with friendship, fun activities and memorable experiences. Whether you're taking your first French class or already speaking confidently, you'll find activities designed for your level and a welcoming community ready to share the weekend with you.

Join us from 16–18 October 2026 at The Haven, Emu Park, a beautiful venue overlooking the Capricorn Coast. A favourite AFCQ event for many years, Le Bon Weekend continues its tradition in a new setting while maintaining the friendly atmosphere that makes the weekend so special.

Partners, friends, members and non-members are all welcome. Come on your own, bring a friend, or make it a weekend away with your partner.

Weekend Package Includes

  • Two nights' accommodation (Friday and Saturday)
  • All meals
  • French language activities for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels
  • Social activities and evening entertainment
  • Time to relax and enjoy the surroundings

Price: $320

Early Bird Member Offer: AFCQ members who book and pay by 24 August will receive a 15% discount.

After the Early Bird period ends, AFCQ members will continue to receive a 10% discount. 

Please book by 13 September 2026 to help us confirm the event. We need to confirm final numbers by this date.

A Saturday day-attendance option is also available, including lunch and workshop activities.

Terms & Conditions

1. Tickets to AFCQ events may be refunded or partially refunded. Refund requests must be made in writing. 

2. Refund requests for specific events requiring catering and/or accommodation will only be accepted prior to the final confirmation date required by the venue or supplier. 

3. For Le Bon Weekend, the accommodation component may be refunded prior to the final confirmation with the venue. After this date a partial refund excluding the accommodation component may be offered where appropriate.

4. If an event is cancelled by Alliance Française CQ, all event fees paid will be refunded in full.

Alliance Française CQ reserves the right to refuse membership or participation, or to remove a person from a class or event, where behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or inconsistent with the values of the organisation.

Alliance Française CQ reserves the right to change or update these terms and conditions at any time.
